How white toner label printing works

White toner printing solves this by adding a fifth toner station and a heat-fused dry-toner process.

Dry toner and digital LED, explained

Dry toner is a fine powder. The printer places it on the label media and fuses it with heat, using a digital LED print head. Digital LED is a row of tiny lights that forms the image instead of a laser.

Because the toner is heat-fused rather than absorbed, it prints well on non-porous films and synthetics. Non-porous means the surface does not soak up liquid.

Why WHITE goes under the colour

On coloured, dark or clear media, the printer lays an opaque WHITE layer first, then prints the CMYK image over it. The WHITE stays visible only where no colour covers it. Single-pass printing and why it matters

Single-pass means every colour, including WHITE, is laid down in one pass, so the media does not make several trips through the printer. Registration stays accurate, waste drops, and output is faster and more consistent. The Pro1050 specifications list 1,200 × 1,200 dpi resolution and a maximum print speed of 152.4 mm/s (6 ips).
